General Conditions:
- Hertfordshire Museums retains the right to choose and arrange work submitted, and to remove work from the Diverse Herts website at its sole discretion
- You agree to only submit materials to which you have the copyright. You may not violate, plagiarise, or infringe on the rights of third parties including copyright, trademark, trade secret, personal privacy, publicity or proprietary rights
- You may not submit any unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive, or otherwise objectionable material
- Hertfordshire Museums retains the right to reject work on the grounds of illegality, copyright infringement and violating public taste and decency
- Hertfordshire Museums is under no obligation to publish the work submitted
- Hertfordshire Museums will need your full name, address and contact details for the purposes of our register of copyright ownership. These details will not be passed on to any third party
- The material you submit will be stored in the archives of Hertfordshire Museums accepts no responsibility in connection with any work you submit to a third party i.e. not Hertfordshire Museums
- We regret that we are unable to link from your work to any external sites
- We check for new entries once a day, Monday to Friday, before they are posted live.
Rights:
By submitting your work to the Diverse Herts website you -
- Warrant that it is your own original work and that you have the right to make it available to Hertfordshire Museums for use in all media worldwide in perpetuity and to make it available for display, interactive access publicity purposes and archive retention
- Indemnify Hertfordshire Museums against all legal fees, damages and other expenses that may be incurred by them as a result of your breach of the above warranty
- Grant Hertfordshire Museums the right in perpetuity to display the work on its website located at www.diverseherts.org.uk, which can be viewed internationally, and to store it on its servers and in its archive and to use in all media worldwide
- Agree to waive your moral rights in the work for the purposes of its submission to and use by Hertfordshire Museums
- Agree that Hertfordshire Museums shall not be responsible for any third party infringement of your rights in the work, moral or otherwise, which may result from its submission to the Diverse Herts website. (What this means is that you give Hertfordshire Museums the rights to use and display this work worldwide, and where you have copied images or sounds off the net or elsewhere, you have permission to use this material. If these rights have not been obtained and the owners attempt to sue Hertfordshire Museums for breach of copyright, you are responsible for all costs)
